Molds and Fungi are a part of the natural environment, but they often invade our houses causing respiratory problems and aggravated allergies. Mold damage items can include pictures, books, carpet, clothes, that in many cases can’t be restored.
Humidity and stagnant air of the wet basement is a perfect place for molds to thrive. If you have a mold problem in your basement or other parts of your house, give us a call and we’ll help you get rid of it!
Four Steps to Mold Remediation & Removal
- Identify and cut off the source. You can’t eliminate all the mold spores that are flying in the air, but you certainly can create conditions unsuitable for successful mold growth. Mold and mildew can grow virtually on any surface, but they do require moisture. Identifying the source of the excessive moisture is crucial. Fixing an existing leak or a condensation issue is necessary to ensure that mold doesn’t grow back.
- Eradicate the mold with a biocide. Once we know the mold won’t feel welcomed in your basement again, we need to get rid of all the present instances. We use EPA-approved biocide to free your home from the nasty growth.
- Improve ventilation and humidity levels. To ensure that mold problem doesn’t surface again, we recommend keeping basement or a crawl space as dry as possible. Installation of dehumidifier or a basement ventilation system often does the job. Some of our Baltimore mold remediation customers attempted to face the mold problem on their own, but never succeeded. Spraying mold with bleach does kill it, but if the underlying cause is not addressed, the mold almost always returns. Mold remediation does work, and we recommend that you hire a professional to perform it. You don’t have to expose yourself to harsh chemicals and potentially toxic molds. We, on the other hand, are trained to do it and will make sure to finish the job fast and in a safe manner, so that you could enjoy your basement again.Give us a call now for a free estimate on your mold remediation project!
